Lori has decided that she’s going to bring Corban into this world by way of natural child birth.  Every time I think of that, I think about an old Bill Cosby standup routine called “Bill Cosby – Himself” in which he does a bit about natural child birth.  If you have ever seen/heard this, you’ll know what I’m talking about.  It’s great!  In it, he talks about how the woman has to learn to breath properly.  He does this crazy huffing and puffing sound that is supposed to be his wife breathing.  He talks about how they went to class to learn how to do this and that they were so good as a pair, that people would ask them to breath at parties “Ladies and gentlemen, the breathing Cosbies!”  His wife would do the crazy huffing and puffing while his job was to tell her to push.  But he would do it “macho” style.  He would go “Zuff wuff weef wuff – puuuush —-puuuuuush!”  Man, I love that skit!  It’s freaking hilarious.  You’d have to see/hear it to appreciate how funny this post is.

Anyway, ever since I heard that bit when I was in the 7th grade, I always swore that I was going to do the breathing part when my wife started to go into labor.  Lori has heard the skit and thinks it’s pretty funny.  I think that we’re both curious to find out if I’ll really get up the nerve to do it.  I think that I will.  It’ll help me shakes the nerves in the delivery room.  Maybe we’ll get it on tape.  The breathing Fergusons!!

As the day gets closer for us to have Corban, I keep thinking about that skit.  I can’t wait to finally bust it out and see what kind of reaction it will get.  I wonder if anyone in the delivery room will recognize it when I do it.  Maybe everyone will just look at me like I’m an idiot!  Who knows.  I can’t wait to try it out though.

If you haven’t heard Bill Cosby – Himself, do yourself a favor and check it out.  Especially if you’re a parent.  Most of his material is about his experience with his family.  Good clean humor!
